/facepalm I hate gambling why does it have to be gambling. I can understand that they get a lot more money per item with a gamble, and it is a kindness to not leave the possibility of no loot at all (which is what I got 90% or more of the time with regular card packs), but my luck will still follow me on these new loot packs. LoN was actually a standalone before it was ever embedded in the game. I’ve actually never launched it within the game.

At first I actually played the game but back then there were unique rewards at the time. Eventually the reward became the same for every new scenario, xp potions.

By that time xp in the game didn’t matter as it was easy enough to level without them. So I stopped playing and just collected my monthly packs. I think their move to add the loot cards to the marketplace is to keep people buying them as they plan to phase out that game as well, just like they did with the EQ Facebook game, the EQWorlds App, and last but not least the shutting down of EQNext.

It really grates with me to spend my money and get something I don’t want/ can’t use. I’d rather spend slightly more and get exactly what I want, as this way you end up spending way more (which is obviously what Daybreak want me to do).

I won’t bite – no money from me. Make them individually buyable, then I’ll spend happily.I already have multiples of many loot items (mostly paintings) from opening my monthly free packs.

I wanted to be able to buy the missing things that I want. I don’t even care about the mounts or homes – I just want some of the furniture items like the little tables of stuff which I have never got despite years of trying. /sigh. Did these players really think that Daybreak was going to go through each and every one of the thirteen LoN expansions and assign a desirable level of Daybreak cash value to each and every EQ2 loot card for sale individually based on the desirability of that particular loot card in comparison to others?LoN loot crates have existed in EQ since April of 2015.

Of course they Daybreak would repeat the same methodology here in EQ2. It has been their trend to leverage loot crates for some time now to deliver content and to keep players “pulling the lever”.I do not see this as delivery methodology as gambling. To me gambling is stepping up to the window and placing $2 down on “Noah Zark” in the third at Belmont. There is a chance at the end of the event that I will have nothing. I will have lost and be in the negative (down two dollars).Purchasing LoN crates to me is the same as going to the Hobby Shop to purchase a pack of Magic cards. Am I going to get the desirable card? The one I want?

Probably not. Is that gambling?

I would say no, as I am still walking away with something at the end of the transaction. Unlike like at the track where I have a possibility of nothing at the end.This is just my take on this. Personally I would not purchase these, but that’s just me. But – – I am not surprised at all by Daybreak’s implementation of this – especially seeing what they have done for this in EQ some time ago. And I don’t see this as gambling because players still have something at the end of the transaction albeit perhaps not the outcome they as individuals consider most desirable for themselves.In the end it is a choice for each of us as consumers and customers. If you don’t like it, then demonstrate that to the vendor in really the only way that will get their attention – – don’t spend your Daybreak cash on it. OleeJune 2, 2016 at 9:30 am.
